Meet The SG Author Series : Rohani Din

Rohani Din, better known as Bunda Annie Din, was born on October 17, 1953, at
Kedah, Seberang Perai, northern Malaysia. She was educated at SRK Sungai Dua and
Dato ‘Onn High School, Butterworth. She currently lives in Singapore with her 4
children and 7 grandchildren.

Her involvement in the world of writing began when her two short stories “Lined
Like Train Carriages” and ”Mother… Please Pray” were published in the magazine
Women”. Her novel, “Diary of Bonda” received rave reviews, was reprinted 5
times and won praises from notable personalities. The novel became a series
and ended off with “Diary of Bonda 4”.

Her other works include the novel “I Looked for the Corner of the Star”, a
collection of individual poems “Counting Steps” and a poetry anthology “Sauk
Seleko – Meeting of Poets in Poetry Anthology Nusantara VI. Some of her
Works won awards such as “An Award {or Syamsiah”, which won first prize in the
National Novel Competition [Sayembara Novel Watan] in 2002, organized by
PERSADA and “Studio Awards for Our Palace 1 & 2”, which both won the Silver
Award in the National Novel Competition in 2004.
