… if you’d like to share your rich pickings with us, please read the following submission guidelines:

  • SWAG accepts short stories of up to 4,000 words and flash fiction
  • we prioritise submissions where the text OR author has some kind of connection to Singapore (your story does not have to be set in Singapore)
  • we do not accept non-fiction (as we do not have the resources to cross-check for legal issues and accuracy)
  • submission does not guarantee publication
  • feedback will not be provided to unsuccessful applicants
  • successful pieces may undergo an editorial process (in agreement with the author)
  • SWAG is volunteer-run and cannot provide payment for submissions
  • we may close to submissions during busy periods.
  • Please send your submission as a single WORD document to
  • use standard formatting: Times, 12pt, double spacing, page numbers
  • include a short (100 word max) personal biog for all submissions
  • for short stories, include a synopsis of up to 100 words
  • please disclose if your submission has been previously published.
